  • Marquis Land Holdings, LLC (CEMVR-RD-2020-1521)

    Expiration date: 4/9/2021

    Marquis Land Holdings, LLC seeks authorization to construct a new barge dock along the east bank of the Illinois River near Mile Marker 209.2, roughly 1-mile north of Hennepin, Illinois. The proposed dock will facilitate barge loading and unloading of dry commodities and will contain approximately 220-feet of face wall with wings on the north and south ends tying back into the bank.

  • Galena Boat Club (CEMVR-RD-2021-284)

    Expiration date: 3/30/2021

    The applicant proposes to renew their Department of the Army permit number CEMVR-OD-P-2010-1534 to perform maintenance dredging activities. The purpose of the project is to provide adequate depths in an access channel through Harris Slough for recreational boats. An area 1,500 feet long and 25 feet wide will be mechanically dredged to a depth of 5 feet.

  • City of Beardstown (CEMVR-RD-2021-0027)

    Expiration date: 3/10/2021

    The current request is a modification of Department of the Army authorization (CEMVR-OD-P-2014-821). The Beardstown Marina currently does not have access to the main channel of the Illinois River at normal pool due to sedimentation from the Sangamon River. Maintenance dredging is necessary to make this facility functional.

  • Havana Dock and Rail, LLC (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-1587)

    Expiration date: 1/27/2021

    The purpose of the project is barge dock maintenance dredging. The permittee will perform maintenance dredging activities on the Illinois River. Approximately 25,000 cubic yards of material will be mechanically removed from a 23.3 acre dredging area, to a dredging depth elevation of 420.34 and a water depth of 9.46 feet.

  • Spring Bay Marina (CEMVR-RD-2020-1617)

    Expiration date: 1/5/2021

    The applicant is proposing to dredge/excavate the existing Spring Bay Marina for the purpose of improving boat access. A temporary access path around the perimeter of the marina and a temporary causeway across the mouth of the marina will be constructed to provide access around the marina for dredging/excavation equipment.

  • Ozinga Materials LLC - Clean Construction and Demolition Debris (CCDD) Facility (CEMVR-OD-P-2019-1372)

    Expiration date: 12/11/2020

    The applicant is proposing a to construct a Clean Construction and Demolition Debris (CCDD) Facility within a former quarry along the Illinois River. CCDD facilities accept materials that are not harmful to human health, human safety, or the environment. The proposed facility will accept certified and tested uncontaminated concrete, brick, rock, stone, and dirt. The proposed project will impact 0.71 acres of existing wetland with clean fill material to construct perimeter berms of the South CCDD facility.

  • RiverStone Group, Inc. (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-1283)

    Expiration date: 10/28/2020

    The applicant is proposing to fill approximately two (2) acres of open water on the Mississippi River. This will be done by building a 650-foot-long sheet pile wall and backfilling from the wall to the bank with sand and gravel. Part of the fill will include a concrete filled deadman anchor in order to provide lateral support to the structure. Due to shallow bedrock, driving the sheet pile to full embedment to achieve adequate toe support is not possible.

    The applicant proposes to maintenance dredge the existing CHS, Inc. barge dock in Peru, Illinois.

  • Doug Strom - Pond (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-927)

    Expiration date: 9/16/2020

    The applicant is proposing to impound 652 feet of intermittent stream. This will be done by moving the dam of a previously established pond which has silted in due to sedimentation. The dam will be moved 444 feet northward, therefore extending the size of the impounded area. The proposed project area will submerge 652 feet of intermittent stream, creating an approximate 5-acre pond.

  • American River Transport Co., LLC (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-943)

    Expiration date: 8/28/2020

    The purpose of the project is barge mooring and fleeting. The proposed work consists of constructing concrete deadmen to moor barges from mile marker 253.2 to mile marker 253.7. The maximum number of barges to be moored at any given time is 27. The barges would be arranged in various configurations but would not impede the navigation channel. No dredging or fill is required to complete this requested activity.

    The applicant proposes to perform mechanical dredging in the Illinois River, near the confluence of Farm Creek, and within their existing inlet structure.

  • Dresden Nuclear Power Station (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-463)

    Expiration date: 8/14/2020

    The applicant proposes to perform hydraulic maintenance dredging in the Units 2/3 cooling water intake canal for the Dresden Nuclear Power Plant’s Units 2 & 3; located east of Morris, Illinois. The dredge slurry will be pumped into a decommissioned Unit 1 canal that is separated from the Illinois River to settle. Once settled, the dredged material will then be mechanically moved on land.

  • Springfield Airport Authority (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-0841)

    Expiration date: 8/14/2020

    The applicant is proposing to fill and drain an existing 0.89-acre wetland and clear associated vegetation located at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport near the Charlie Ramp in order to minimize wildlife attractants and improve drainage. The wetland area has been used by various species of ducks, Canadian geese, and other wildlife such as deer, coyote, and fox. Wildlife Hazard Management Reports were completed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Wildlife Services for the Airport. The Reports designated this area as a high hazard and recommended the area be cut and graded to eliminate the standing water and allow vegetation to be mowed to a consistent height.

    The applicant proposes to maintenance dredge the existing Koch Fertilizer barge dock in Henry, Illinois.

  • WFI Holdings, LLC - Wetland and Stream Compensatory Mitigation Bank Proposal (CEMVR-OD-P-2016-310)

    Expiration date: 7/15/2020

    The applicant proposes to establish the Sangamon River Wetland and Stream Mitigation Bank to generate approximately 83 wetland credits and 17,857 stream credits, for use by the regulated public, to mitigate for unavoidable wetland and stream impacts within the service area of the bank.

  • City of Bloomington - Lake Evergreen (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-355)

    Expiration date: 6/10/2020

    The applicant is proposing to place riprap bank stabilization along approximately 8,100 feet of eroding shoreline around Lake Evergreen. Stone will be placed near the shore from a barge to an elevation of 722.2 feet above the normal pool elevation to stop the lateral erosion caused by wave action and reduce the sediment entering the lake body by accessing these sites with a barge.

  • Illinois and Michigan Oil, LLC (CEMVR-OD-P-2020-484)

    Expiration date: 6/5/2020

    The applicant proposes to install 20 concrete filled steel mooring pins at 400 foot intervals which will create an upper section of 4,400 feet and a lower section of 2,800 feet, for an approximate fleeting capacity of 106 barges, which would be arranged in varying configurations. Also, a 600 feet sheet pile dock wall will be constructed downstream, adjacent to the termination of the lower fleet. The barges will be fleeted/moored from mile marker 255.7 downstream to mile marker 254.1 (approximately 300 feet east of the Seneca Railroad Drawbridge).

    The applicant is proposing approximately 15,700 linear feet of new and repaired bank stabilization to address the eroding shorelines around Lake Camelot (7,500 feet) and Lake Lancelot (8,200 feet). Stone and/or timber will be placed below the ordinary high water mark and up to 24 inches above full pool to stop the lateral erosion caused by wave action and reduce the sediment entering the lake body.

    The applicant proposes to perform commercial dredging at the existing, SABIC Innovative Plastics facility in Ottawa, Illinois.

  • Town of Normal (CEMVR-OD-P-2019-1421)

    Expiration date: 2/11/2020

    The applicant is proposing a stream bank stabilization project on the north branch of Sugar Creek between College Avenue and Blair Drive. The north and west branches of Sugar Creek are areas identified as a public hazard and a poorly maintained channel corridor with steep and poorly vegetated streambank slopes. 

  • U.S. Geological Survey (CEMVR-OD-P-2019-1116)

    Expiration date: 1/2/2020

    The applicant is proposing to deploy an acoustic deterrent system. The placement of the acoustic deterrent system has been previously authorized under Nationwide Permit #5 on November 25, 2019. In order to access the location of the acoustic deterrent system, approximately 550 cubic yards of sediment will need to be dredged. The placement of the dredged material will be placed in an upland, non-wetland location, approximately .75 miles Northeast of the project area.
