REQUESTER: In compliance with 33 USC 408 (Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899; hereinafter Section 408), the Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority has requested permission to modify the Des Moines I Levee, an existing federally-authorized FRMP.
LOCATION: The proposed project is located at 3000 Vandalia Road in Des Moines, Iowa.
REQUESTER’S PROPOSED ACTION: The proposed project would include alterations to the pump station, a platform for relocated transformers, new effluent diversion
channeling/piping that crosses the federal levee, and three proposed boring holes within the construction footprint for geotechnical analysis.
