REQUESTER: In compliance with 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899; hereinafter Section 408), Des Moines County has requested permission to modify the Two Rivers Levee and Drainage District -Upper Unit, an existing federally authorized FRMP.
LOCATION: The proposed project is on County Road 99, near the intersection of Hawkeye Road, in Des Moines County, Iowa. The proposed action would occur on the southern extent of the FRMP.
REQUESTER’S PROPOSED ACTION: The proposed project would involve the removal and replacement of deteriorating H-14 Bridge that crosses the Two Rivers Levee and Drainage District. The new bridge structure would incorporate current safety features while providing additional width and load-carrying capacity.
