ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District is in the process of creating a master plan for the Farm Creek Reservoirs. Part of this process is to invite public comment. Anyone wishing to provide input can do so at an open house on Tuesday, June 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the FOLEPI Building located at 2230 E. Washington Street, East Peoria, IL.
The purpose of the open house is to informally meet with individuals and groups to discuss the creation of a master plan for the Farm Creek Reservoirs. This will provide the public an opportunity to learn about the status of natural resource and recreation activities, provide comments on land management issues and resource objectives, and give feedback on their interests as it relates to Corps managed lands at Farmdale and Fondulac reservoirs.
Information about the process of creating the master plan can be found at https://go.usa.gov/xNpbz. A master plan guides management of recreation and natural resources on USACE managed lands. The overriding authorized purpose is flood risk management and classifications will provide for opportunities for sustainability of natural resources and recreation while continuing to provide the intended purpose.
