East Hannibal, Illinois-John Hay Recreation Area located across the river from Hannibal, Missouri, off Highway 106 near East Hannibal, Illinois will be closed on Wednesday, 11 April 2018 for a duration of up to eight weeks. John Hay will be closed to allow staging material and equipment in support of maintenance of wing dam structures located in Pool 22 on the Mississippi River. This closure also includes the boat ramp. John Hay Recreation Area is scheduled to open for public use on 6 June 2018. If construction activities are completed prior to 6 June 2018, John Hay Recreation Area will open back up for public use.
