ILLINOIS CITY, Illinois -- ILLINOIS CITY, Illinois - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, announces visitor access to Lock and Dam 16 will be restricted starting May 10 due to road construction. The entrance to the visitor area, including the observation platform and restroom facility will not be accessible during the closure. Construction is expected to last up to one month.
