Army Corps of Engineers Awards $275,000 Contract for Army Reserve Center Repairs

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has awarded a contract for $275,500 to repair the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system at the SSG George J. Conway U.S. Army Reserve Center in Cadiz, Ohio.

 

Meccon, Inc. of Akron, Ohio, will remove and replace the existing hydrolic boiler and circulating pumps. Meccon, Inc., will remove and replace the existing office air handling unit, duct work, and the associated air cooled condensing unit.

 

The project includes installation of new suspended ceilings in the offices, provides for certified testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC equipment,  as well as minor masonry repair, wall patching, concrete walkway, and other minor miscellaneous architectural items. Demolition of asbestos containing materials is required for this contract. The work is scheduled to be completed by summer 2010.
