Corps hosts open house to discuss Starved Rock Pool Critical Restoration Project

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Aug. 29) – The public is invited to attend an open house at the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center, 950 N 27TH Road, Ottawa, Ill., on Sept. 4 between 5 and 7 p.m. The open house is an opportunity to discuss the draft report findings for the Critical Restoration Project to restore waterfowl habitat in the lower Starved Rock Pool.

The Corps of Engineers and Illinois Department of Natural Resources personnel will be available to explain the report results, answer questions, and listen to comments on the proposed project features. 

The report can be viewed on the Illinois River Ecosystem Restoration website at http://www.mvr.usace.army.mil/Missions/EnvironmentalProtectionandRestoration/IllinoisRiverBasinRestoration/CriticalRestorationProjects.aspx.

Comments regarding the report will be received until Sept. 17.  Comments can be submitted to the project manger by calling (309)-794-5342 or emailing cemvr-pm-web@usace.army.mil.
