Partial Opening for Thomson Recreation Areas

Thomson Recreation Areas Reopening as Water Recedes

 

Rock Island, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces that the following recreation areas are beginning to reopen or partially reopen as flood waters recede and the areas are cleaned up and made safe for public entry.  The status’ of the following parks as of July 15 are as follows:

Cattail Slough, Fulton, Illinois- remains closed

Bulger’s Hollow Campground Clinton, Iowa – remains closed, Boat Ramp – OPEN

Lock and Dam 13 Fulton, Illinois Boat Ramp- OPEN, Camping Area - remains closed

Thomson Causeway, Thomson, Illinois- remains closed

Fisherman’s Corner, Hampton, Illinois- OPEN

These recreation areas will remain closed until the waters recede and the areas are able to sufficiently dry out to allow safe for visitor access.  For up-to-date information on park closures please visit www.missriver.org.
