The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has released for public review, the Mississippi River Project Master Plan with Integrated Environmental Assessment for Pools 11-22 of the Upper Mississippi River. The public is invited to submit comments regarding the alternative analysis and preferred alternative for this project through Aug. 20.

The purpose of this plan is to guide public use and management of 11 USACE operated campgrounds, 22 USACE managed day use areas, and approximately 60,000 acres of federal lands from Guttenberg, Iowa, to Saverton, Missouri, for environmental stewardship and recreational purposes. The Master Plan provides direction for appropriate land management regarding the use, development, enhancement, protection, and conservation of the natural, cultural, and man-made resources on these project lands.

A digital version of the plan and its associated appendices are available at: https://go.usa.gov/xFg6G along with a video presentation about the revision process and how the preferred alternative was selected.
