  • Additional boat ramp to close at Saylorville Lake

    Due to rising water levels at Saylorville Lake, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District will be closing the Cherry Glen High Water Boat Ramp at 10 p.m. today. Ongoing closures remain in place at Cherry Glen Lower Boat Ramp, the lower parking lot at Lakeview High Water Boat Ramp, Oak Grove Beach Access, Sandpiper Boat Ramp, NW Jester Park Drive, and Lakeview Main Boat Ramp. These closures will remain in effect until lake levels recede, and the areas can be cleaned and safely reopened.
  • Three Saylorville Lake recreation areas to be closed in 2023 for upgrades

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, announces the Prairie Flower and Cherry Glen campgrounds and the Cherry Glen picnic area at Saylorville Lake will be closed throughout the 2023 recreation season. Closures of these areas are needed to facilitate upgrades and repairs to water and sewer line systems.
  • Recreation Closures Continue at Coralville Lake

    IOWA CITY, Iowa - All public day use boat ramps managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Coralville Lake remain closed at this time. This includes the Curtis Bridge, Mehaffey Bridge, Sandy Beach, Sugar Bottom, and West Overlook boat ramps. Lake MacBride Boat Ramp which is managed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources also remains closed. West Overlook Recreation Area campsites 61-89 and Sugar Bottom Recreation Area campsites 156-181 and 192-214 as well as the campground boat ramp at Sugar Bottom also remain closed.
  • Closures at Coralville Lake

    IOWA CITY, Iowa - Due to rising lake levels, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake are closing several recreational areas starting September 4. Closed areas will include the Curtis Bridge Boat Ramp, the boat ramp and swim beach at Sandy Beach Day Use Area, campsites 170-181 and 194-208 and the beaches and boat ramp at the Sugar Bottom Recreation Area. Due to water over the roadway, 140th Street between Ely Road and the Sandy Beach Day Use Area will also be impassible.
